The project at Penzkofer involved the lighting of a modern production hall specializing in solid wood processing and the operation of a high-performance timber processing center. The objective was clear: a highly efficient, intelligent lighting system was to provide ideal working conditions, balancing precision, safety, and sustainability.

What makes this project stand out is the combination of technical sophistication and thoughtful functionality. The TUNE M Glass luminaire was used, both in the Master version with integrated BT Mesh Sensor 3360 and as an extension module. The centerpiece is the glare-free TUNE optic, delivering exceptional light quality – uniform, eye-friendly, and ideal for precise work with solid wood. The entire lighting system is controlled via a Bluetooth Mesh network – wireless, scalable, and intuitively operated through the Sivair app.

Thanks to the combination of motion detection and constant light control, the system automatically adapts to environmental conditions. Light is only used when truly needed – ensuring consistent brightness and maximum energy efficiency.

Technical Concept

The control system used is based on a stand-alone Bluetooth Mesh architecture. The integrated BT Mesh Sensors 3360 in the TUNE M Glass Master luminaire handle motion and daylight detection – without additional wiring, flexible in use, and low maintenance. Human Centric Lighting (HCL) was deliberately omitted, as the focus here is purely on functional lighting for the production environment.
