Feel the atmosphereWhy acoustic solutions?
More comfort, improved productivity and less stress.
Noise impairs concentration, increases stress levels and negatively affects well-being. Acoustic solutions reduce disruptive noise and sound reflections, create a balanced acoustic environment, and foster a calm, pleasant atmosphere that sustainably supports concentration and well-being.
Quieter and clearer: How sound absorbers transform room acoustics
Acoustic solutions made from high-quality, thermally bonded fleece offer effective sound-absorbing performance. Their surface and the porous structure of the material absorb sound waves and convert them into heat, significantly reducing reverberation and disruptive noise reflections. The result is pleasant acoustics that minimise noise and meet the demands of a wide range of spatial concepts.
Tools in acoustics
ABSORBERS
Sound absorbers reduce noise in various ways: for example, resonant absorbers such as vibrating plasterboard dampen sound through the mechanical movement of a flexible panel and are particularly effective at absorbing low frequencies. Porous absorbers are made of open-pored materials, where sound waves are converted into heat energy through friction, thus reducing mainly mid and high frequencies. Both methods improve room acoustics by absorbing sound and minimising reflections.
REFLECTOR
A reflector redirects sound in a targeted way instead of absorbing it. Hard, smooth surfaces such as concrete walls reflect sound waves almost entirely, causing the sound to remain in the room and leading to reverberation. In large, echoing spaces, this can impair speech intelligibility. However, reflection can also be used intentionally – for example, in classrooms or concert halls, where reflectors redirect sound in such a way that it is evenly distributed, allowing all listeners to experience clear understanding.
DIFFUSER
A diffuser redirects sound waves by breaking and scattering them in various directions, instead of absorbing or reflecting them directly. This allows sound to be distributed more evenly throughout the room, reducing disturbing echoes and overlapping sounds. Baffles – acoustic elements with a structured surface – often serve this purpose, but go even further: they combine the properties of both diffusers and absorbers by scattering and damping sound waves. The result is a balanced and natural room acoustics.
